Tonight I was talking to my younger sister about how different New Years Eve is as an adult. She is over at my parent's house with her family helping with the kitchen demo, and I am snuggling on the couch with Nicholas (in my cupcake pajamas and favorite Christmas quilt) watching Doogie Howser with mine. I love a good low-key holiday. Gives me a chance to think (scary, I know). Amidst the chaos of Nerf bullets and diapers, that is.
2010 was a pretty great year. The best so far, I think. A few of the highlights...
*My first book was released, and I couldn't be happier about it. Thank you C&T!
*Bliss made its cheery debut at Quilt Market in Minneapolis
*Enjoyed (ha!) morning sickness for 8 out of 12 months of the year
*Painted their room and his room my favorite shade of gray
*Visited San Francisco, was on The Quilt Show, and Full Housed it across the Golden Gate bridge
*The munchkins water-skied for the first time, making me one ridiculously proud mama
*Was so lucky to be a part of Where Women Create and The Creative Connection
*Max joined the fam
*Spilled a lot of beans, but this one was my favorite
*Had a quilt featured in American Patchwork and Quilting magazine
*And of course, the best part of this year, meeting my littlest munchkin
The more I think about it, ending this year on the couch with all my very favorite people (plus Doogie Howser) seems just about perfect. I'm pretty sure none of us will make it to midnight, which is just fine, because I'm a little sad to see 2010 go. It was certainly a good one.
See you tomorrow, 2011. Happy New Year to you all!
