It's Cotton Blossoms Day! Hooray!
Well, since pictures speak louder than words (that is how the saying goes, isn’t it??), here are a few pictures of the newest Moda line, Cotton Blossoms. Oh, and did I mention its mine? Well, half mine. It’s my moms too. (Hi mom!) I KNOW. We can hardly believe it either.
When my mom and I were asked to design a line of fabric for Moda, we could not have been happier. Or more shocked, quite honestly. It was a state of complete and utter disbelief, mixed with unbelievable levels of excitement, and then more disbelief. I’m pretty sure you all know of my love and appreciation (ahem, obsession?) of Moda fabrics. Simply put, there is nothing better! It has been in the works for quite a while now (remember THIS trip?) but I decided not to get my hopes up until I had the actual yardage in my hands. Well, the actual yardage is in my hands, and I simply could not be any happier about it! THIS is what is called fabric love.
Before I say anything else, I need to stop and thank the absolutely incredible team over at Moda for making this happen. And where do I even begin? Lissa, Cheryl, Jen, and everyone else over there working behind the scenes- the absolute biggest THANK YOU imaginable.
Okay, now on to Cotton Blossoms itself. In a nutshell, it is one line of fabric with two colorways, one a tad more on the trendy side, and one a little more traditional. Kinda like my mom and I. The great part comes when you blend a little bit of trendy with a lot of traditional, or vice-versa.
So anyway, you will have to excuse me while I go admire for the 15,673rd time the gorgeousness that is covering my studio. Oh, and my name on a selvage. My name? Seriously...
PS- Umm...(I probably should have mentioned this in the beginning) I almost forgot! ;-) The reason you are all here today- the Quilt Giveaway! I have to say I am completely overwhelmed by the response and have to put a huge THANK YOU out there to everyone who participated and for all your sweet, encouraging comments. When things calm down around here (post-Market, of course) I am going to try my darndest to stop by and say hello to everybody! It was killing me to just drop by to check for a post and not take a look around at all your fabulous blogs. IF ONLY there were 40 hours in a day... okay, 50? And you better believe there are more giveaways in the future! Anyway, back to what I was saying. It has been Mircrosoft Excel-ed to death and random integer generated, and from the 1266 total entries (including all email entries!), the winner of the Bloom quilt is:

Just found out about the quilt give-away and decided to try my luck. I absolutely love Moda fabrics and purchased some from a local store called Charm Shack in order to make my daughter a quilt for her bed. Mine will not be as elaborate as the one you are giving away. Wow! It looks darling. Anyway, my name is Maria Draper and I will be posting this on my blog sweetlydetailed.blogspot.com. I found out about this from Rachel Berry's blog.
Congratulations Maria! Contact me at camille@thimbleblossoms.com and I will be sure to get that sent out as soon as I can get away from my sewing machine. Tune in next week for a pre-market sneak peek at what I have been sewing like crazy since Cotton Blossoms landed on my doorstep last Thursday... I can’t wait to show you!
edit- I guess it is Cotton Blossoms Day over at the Fat Quarter Shop too! Thanks Kimberly!!
