Aren't you sweet?

WOW.  Well, aren't you sweet?!  Thank you all so much for the new pattern love!!!  Seriously, you guys are THE best.  I'm sure you know how it goes, you stare at something for so long, so many hours, until you wonder if it is even good or not?  That is exactly where I was.  Definitely feeling much better now, thanks to you.  So, thanks.  Lots and lots of thanks.  

So much going on around here these days!  Getting ready for Market, of course, but lots of LIFE going on around here too.  Last weekend my little brother Dallin and his wife Cecily came down to visit and brought the cutest little man with them. We miss them already and are trying to convince them to just move here already.  I'll let you know how it goes.  Cross your fingers.  

Yesterday I decided I was going to start on a Wild Thing quilt out of Simple Abundance to take to Quilt Market.  The plan was to work on it here and there, but I ended up finishing the binding this morning (Yes, late night.  Sleep.  What's that?) and I love the way it turned out.  I'm loving the Simple Abundance!!  

I've been putting this off for two weeks now, because I never quite know what to say, but I thought I better mention it, and give a little shout out and thank you to everybody at Artful Blogging Magazine.   

They included me and my silly blog in their beautiful summer issue, if you can believe it.  Thank you so much for letting me be a part of you magazine!  And yes, there is plenty of blushing over here.  

Anything else?  Oh, there were a few questions in the comments of the last post I thought I'd cover really quick.  

If you have a question about the fabric used on any of the new patterns, check the description in my etsy store.  It lists the fabric used and the size of the quilt.  Hopefully that helps

Yes, the red polka dot on the Pint-sized quilt comes like that.  It is part of the Momo line from Moda and it is SO fun.  I can't stop making things out of it!  Seriously, I'm down to scraps.  

Simple Abundance is coming out in August/September as far as I know.  I will definitely keep you posted as it starts to ship.  Also, you better believe I'll have a giveaway or two to celebrate.  Seriously, it's the least I can do.  You guys are awesome.  :-)  

Anyway, I better get back to pattern writing/editing.  Right after the pizzaing/dr.peppering that is waiting downstairs for me, that is.

It's a{nother} good day.  This time it's good because I can finally show you what I've been working on the last few weeks.  It has been a crazy few weeks, let me tell you.  But since I know you aren't reading this, and are just scrolling through the pictures instead, here they are... A good day

I know, I know.   I deserve an award for being a terrible blogger these days.  But rest assured, I'm working on a whole bunch of stuff, much of which you'll see in the next week or two.  Hooray!  But anyway, just had to pop my head in here for a minute and say hello. 

It has been a madhouse around here lately.  You know that feeling, where there is almost TOO much going on?  Almost.  But today, today was a payoff day.  A day where all that hard work and no sleep pays off. Why, you ask?  Because THIS landed on my doorstep today:

SO, what do you think?  Simple Abundance-y?  I spent the day folding it, touching it, drooling a little.  And really really wanting to show you guys.  Finally!!!  And really, seriously, thank you to everybody who made this happen over at Moda. You guys are THE BEST.  Hands down. Thank you!!!

So what else has been going down around here, besides really, really exciting fabric deliveries?

Well, Vanessa (of V&Co fame) came and stayed for the weekend and we had WAY too much fun.  And that is an understatement.  We shopped, sewed, LAUHGED, got absolutely no sleep, and drank our weight in Dr. Pepper (both diet and delicious).  Seriously, this girl is awesome.  Hey V, whatcha got next weekend??

And also, the bike riding.  There's been a lot of that.

A few things

I'm usually not big on the word 'cute', but I made a decision this morning.

Whirlygigs/windmills/funky pinwheel blocks?  They are CUTE.  Adorable, actually.

Itty bitty ones.  GOSH these things are cute!

What do you think?  I love it!!  Counting down the days 'til it lands on my doorstep.  Last I heard, 31 days... *sigh*  Thats a long time.

is THIS little man learning to ride his bike this morning.

Sans training wheels, of course.

A billion pictures and 7 things

The amazing Joanna (kinda sounds like a magician when you say it that way)  tagged me a few days ago (gee thanks ;-), and I have been racking my brain trying to come up with 7 things you don't already know about me.  Not sure if I can, but here's my best shot:

7 Randomly Honest things about me

1.  I love to go waterskiing with my family.  I'm okay, but my dad and brothers are awesome.

2.  My dad used to tease me that he was watching M*A*S*H when my mom was in labor with me, and made her wait until it was over, which is why I was born at 11:06pm.  Well, when I was in labor with number 1, I was watching Family Feud.  When my doctor came in and told me it was time to push, I asked him if we could watch the final round first.  He gave me a strange look, said yes, and watched the end of the show with us.  #1 was born at 12:31.

3.  I am a multi-tasker.  And not a good one!  See dishwasher example above.  

4.  When I was in college, I spent my summers working in Nantucket for a sailboat called the Endeavor, and at a homemade ice cream store called The Juice Bar.  I may have gained 35 pounds the first summer, and I'm sure it had nothing to do with the quart of ice cream I ate every night after work.  It was awesome. 

5.  I am very opinionated when it comes to politics, but as Tula Pink once said, "I firmly believe in the separation of crafts and state."  You're welcome.  

6.  Like Laurie, I heart Friends.  I watch it every night (morning) while I try to fall asleep and wind down from the day.  I know every line of every episode, and I never tire of it.  Ross and Chandler are my favorite.

7.  I love anything polka dot.  Clothes, shoes, dishes, fabric, furniture... doesn't matter, anything with polka dots.  Bonus points if they are red and aqua. 

And one more thing?   Apparently I spend way too much time blogging.  I've been trying to cut back, but it hasn't gone well.  Okay, now it is time to tag seven others....  How about Angela, Sandy, Heather, Ashley, Vanessa, AmandaJean and.... Sarah.  And of course, anybody else who wants to give it a shot.  Make sure and tell me if you do, I'd love to get to know you guys better!

I guess its back to work for me, market is right around the corner, you know...
