Lots of beans.
I have a bit of a confession to make. I've been keeping a few secrets. And it wasn't that I didn't want to tell you, its that I had to wait. A really long time. At least that is what it felt like... let me explain. And since I've been scooped, (big time!) I better hurry!
The WWC photo shoot went great! Couldn't have gone better. Thank you all for your encouragement- it definitely helped my nerves! You may have noticed that I have been missing since the shoot on Thursday. (Then again, my blogging consistency isn't the best, so you probably didn't.) Where have I been? I'll give you a hint...
Yep, San Francisco! It was, in nutshell, heavenly. The whole thing!
I have had 'drive across the Golden Gate Bridge' on my list of things I want to do someday since Full House was on, and it was every bit as amazing as I hoped.
I may have rolled the window down and sang the theme song while we drove across in our red car. "Whatever happened to predictability, the milkman, the paperboy... " please tell me I'm not the only one singing right now.
So, what was the reason for the trip?
A visit to Alden Lane Nursery in Livermore for a taping of...
The Quilt Show with THE Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims. To talk about...
Yep, you guessed it. My first book!
Gosh it feels good to finally tell all of you! I started on this book with C&T Publishing last spring, and had to promise to keep it under wraps until now. I accidentally spilled a few too many beans a few weeks back, luckily only a few of you caught it. Oops!
So anyhow, yep, theres a book on the way, and yep, I was at The Quilt Show with C&T to show the projects in the book, show how to do a fun technique or three, and chat about the next generation of quilters.
Susanne from C&T was also there to talk about the group of extra-talented STASH authors (More about STASH in an upcoming post!). Susanne was a natural, she was so calm and collected. Not to mention supportive! Jarom, Susanne, and celebrity PamKittyMorning were standing in the back of the room grinning at me the entire time we were filming. I was definitely feeling the love.
Me and Pam of PamKittyMorning fame
(Possibly the dorkiest picture of me of all time. Lovely.)
Thanks you three! Owe you big time.
To tell you the truth, I was beyond nervous to be on TQS, but all my nerves were, in fact, for nothing, as Alex, Ricky, and the rest of The Quilt Show crew could not have been more pleasant, gracious, and just flat out amazing. Love that Alex!
I will definitely have way more about it all as the episode as it gets closer to airing (September, I believe). I'll keep you posted!
No more secrets. The beans are spilled.
I love spilled beans.
And San Francisco, it turns out.
