I'm on my way out the door to the airport so I'm posting this a few hours early. Hope that's okay!
Today is my day on Kathy's Strip-Smart Quilts blog tour, and, as per usual, this day snuck up on me way faster than I anticipated. I had big plans to make my quilt, because good heavens, I had the whole first week of summer break to do it. It was my next project after my first batch of Farmers Wife blocks. Then boy 2 got sick. Then boy 3. And boy 1. All 3 with different ailments, poor boys. Glad to say they are on the mend, only boy 1 isn't quite back to himself yet, and we have (so far) kept the three of them from sharing. No small feat. Also, I'm on my way to San Francisco.
SO, instead of showing pictures of my finished quilt, I'm going to show pictures shamelessly stolen off the other girls blogs.
(Kathy- sorry about my lameness.)
I just have to start out by saying, this ruler is a gem. An honest to goodness gem. You'll love it.
I tested it on a set of strips and it works like butter. (Unfortunately my new camera charger was in transit and my camera was dead, so I borrowed one of Elizabeth's pictures. Thanks E!) Just line it up and cut back and forth down your strip.
And there you have it. (This one was stolen from Laurie...)
All the quilts in the book are made using this ruler, all look so different, and are all beautiful! (You can see several of quilts from the book over here at Amazon, if you want a closer look.) This one just happens to be my favorite, I bet you can't guess why:
The first time I saw it I decided I was going to make it. And I will! I love how it turned out in Bliss. So cheery! I also love what Lissa is doing with the new Sweetwater line (Hometown) and her book, I am tempted to make this one too.
Picture and idea to make this stolen from Lissa (don't kill me)
