This morning I went to a Zumba. But not regular Zumba, this one was a fundraiser for a family that is a friend of many of our friends. I did not know the family when I got there, but their story touched my heart. See that cute little girl in blue sitting in the front row? This is her dad. And she thanked us all for coming to help him. I can't even think about it without crying.
Rob Grimshaw is a father of 2 little girls. He went to school with my husband, and was a year older than him. He is so young. He has been diagnosed with Epitheliod Sarcoma Cancer. This form of cancer is so rare that there have only been 8 cases in the US in the last 15 years. Because of this, there isn't a lot of research available, and treatments are all experimental. Because it is "experimental" it is not covered by their insurance. Because of this many of their friends (and ours) are trying to help raise some money to help them.
I can't imagine going through what he has gone through. What his family has gone through. And that is all I can say about that. I just can't even think about it...
So if you have a moment, watch this video of their sweet family or leave an encouraging comment for them over at their blog. I'm sure they would be so very grateful for any prayers you can send their way. Any help you can provide.
Oh, and give your family a couple of extra hugs today, will you? I know I will.
