It was an exciting week over here at the Roskelley household. We had the exterior of the house painted, and good heavens did it make a difference. You might remember the old colors, which were an extra dirty off white/yellowish body and faded blueish/lavender trim. It was pretty rough. We still need to tackle the landscaping in front and back (back yard is still dead-dead) but having fresh paint makes all the difference.
Since I've had a few requests for an update lately, and thought I'd show you what we've done in the past 6 months. I decided not to post the befores (again) in this post, and just photos of where we are right now. If you want to see the listing photos (how things looked the first time we walked through), they are here, and the before and afters are here.
Yep, I take too many photos. True story.
update 6/16: window trim
update 6/16- kitchen island and table
update 6/16: furniture
(couches- RC Willey, rug- One Kings Lane, chair- West Elm)
update 6/16: mantel decor
Are you all pictured out? Sorry! Most of the source info is listed here for the big stuff (paint colors, floors, etc) but if you have other questions, please see the comments below and you'll probably find your answer.
Have a great week!
Update- 4 years later
I've had a lot of people ask about certain things holding up in the house. I still love my floors, they have held up beautifully. Here is a link to the exact floors we used. I haven't changed my paint colors, and you can find them here. We added window trim and cut down and built out our kitchen island this year. We chose quartz for the island (a slab that looks like marble, only available through Bedrosians as far as I know. I don't know the name of it, we just went to the warehouse and chose a slab we liked. (Sorry!) We used black granite for the back countertops and a marble tile from Home Depot for the backsplash. Cabinet pulls are from Restoration Hardware. I would still choose all the same finishes, with one exception. Never again will I use white grout for flooring. :-)
