Hello again! I've been sewing like crazy over here, working on my APQ quilt and a few other little things, and I'm so excited to show you the next two minis that are part of my Thimble Blossoms mini series. Yay!
Hands down the most requested quilts to make mini were Swoon and Spools, and I couldn't wait to get started on them. I started on Spools one morning and had planned on just making a few blocks, but once I started sewing, there was no way I could stop. These things are addictive!
Mini Spools! These spools are about 3" x 4", and the whole quilt measures 14" x 16". I made mine out of April Showers and Scrumptious, with a little bit of Ruby and Happy-go-lucky mixed in.
That's my favorite combo right now, can you tell? I'm loving my scrap bin.
And of course, Mini Swoon. The blocks are 8" instead of the 24" blocks in the original Swoon. The whole quilt is 19", or you can just make one bock with a little border. I adjusted the pattern quite a bit, you can see, so there are less seams and less pieces, so you can use larger scale prints. I pulled from my scrap bin for this one too, and love these fabrics mixed together!
The patterns for both are available in my shop as PDFs now, and as soon as the printing comes in later this week I'll send out the paper patterns!
Here's my little wall of minis, with many more to come.
Note: L to R Puddle Jumping, Raincheck (free download here) Starlight, Swoon, Spools, Rainy Day Sewing raindrop, 1 regular spools block, and a 9 patch made (and quilted!) by my cute husband who will kill me for telling you that. ;-)
Which one should I make next?
