A while back I was asked by Lissa Alexander and Jennifer Keltner if I would like to join in a quilt along they were hosting. The second I saw the quilt, it was an immediate YES!
The quilt was designed by Lissa (better known as Moda Lissa these days) and I was one of 8 quilters invited to start things off. Each of us is doing something different with it, and I can't wait to see how they all turn out! We'll all be blogging and instagramming our progress with the quilt along. Here's the crew:
Carrie @ La Vie En Rosie
Jane @ Quilt Jane
Kimberly @ Fat Quarter Shop's Jolly Jabber
Sherri @ A Quilting Life
Lisa @ Primitive Gatherings
Amy @ Amy's Creative Side
Anne @ Bunny Hill
and of course, Lissa on her blog, and more on the All People Quilt blog as well.
This is Lissa's original quilt, the one that will be featured in the February issue of APQ. Now I don't really understand how the whole month thing works with magazines, but from what I hear, it will be on newsstands any day now, and if you are an APQ subscriber, it is on its way to your mailbox! So if you would like to sew along with us, run out and get the magazine (which has all the instructions to make the quilt) and gather up some fabric.
I've been pulling fabric for mine, which was inspired by this scrappy little Rainy Day Sewing bag I made a few weeks ago .
It's a combination of Ruby (one of our older lines), Scrumptious (which is in stores now), and our newest line, April Showers, which will be in stores in a few months. Plus a few more favorites mixed in. I'm also thinking about adding in a little bit of my favorite Alison Glass text print, and maybe some linen, but we'll see how it comes together. I can't wait to get started!
So what do you think? Do you want to join us? We would love to have you! Oh, and if you are on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter, use the hashtag #APQquiltalong so we can see how your quilt is coming along.
Time to get sewing!
Thanks American Patchwork!! And you too, Lissa!
