April is just flying by! I hope a quick Instagram recap will make up for my lack of blogging lately, and if you want to see what I’m up to day to day, come find me (@thimbleblossoms) over there. I promise I'll still cover all my quilts and bigger stuff here, but all the crazy and in between is usually over there. So what’s been going on in our neck of the woods? Let’s see…
(Disclaimer: All of these photos are straight from my phone/Instagram.)
*I found this photo that I made my heart hurt. When did this baby grow up? And how is he so wild and three now?
*I'm loving following the #redletterdayalong! It's been so fun to see all of the Red Letter Day quilts popping up. This one, made by my pal Holly is one of my many favorites!
*Baseball. We've been playing/watching a LOT of baseball.
*My mom finished her #apqquiltalong Tone it Down quilt and bound it on her way to visit us this week. It was hard to see it go! And my parents too.
*I've been trying to resist making a whole quilt out of mini Rise and Shine blocks. Because obviously that would be crazy. Right? Maybe not? (Wouldn't it be great?!)
*Did you hear about the new Swoon tees over at Patchwork Threads? I've been wearing mine too much. In fact, I'm wearing it right now!
*I've been trying to catch up on some late baby gifts and have been making these simple self binding receiving blankets out of some of our flannels. I'm hooked! There are a few great tutorials out there, but this video from Missouri Star is my favorite. Jenny even uses our Bliss flannel!
*A month or two ago Jessie and I decided to swap one of her gorgeous afghans for one of my quilts. (I know, I'm getting the better end of that deal! :-) She requested a Puddle Jumping quilt, and it has been so fun to work on!
See? All scrappy too. My favorite.
Better photos to come as soon as I get it back from Abby, who is going to work her quilting magic on it soon.
What else? Too much! And I have a 3 year old holding flip flops waiting as patiently as he can to go out and play with his brothers, so I better scoot. It's spring break, you know?
Happy spring, wherever you are!
