A while back I was part of a really fun Moda blog hop called Spell it with Fabric. All the Moda designers were assigned a letter, and we made it our own using our fabrics and style. I made a T block that I used in my leftovers quilt and I was hooked.
I started out with the first 9, but then got busy with all the hustle and bustle of Miss Kate. It wasn't until a month or so ago that I got back to my alphabet blocks. And when I did, I couldn't stop sewing!
I also used my mini Spools, mini Swoon and Dwell (from my book) blocks for my fillers since I wanted to use blocks that were special to me. I didn't change the sizing at all, and they worked out great!
A few other specifics:
Fabrics: Scrappy low volume and favorites we've designed for Moda
Binding: Also scrappy, leftover from other quilts I've made
Backing: Ruby
Quilting: Puddles, quilted by Abby Latimer (Thanks Abby!)
You can see more of my process and whole bunch more blocks and quilts in the #spellitwithmoda hashtag on Instagram. They are all so great!
Anything I missed? And seriously, you should make one.
Have a great weekend!
