Finally!! The giveaway is closed, and after hours of counting and searching and linking and Dr. Pepper, the results are in. So here's how it all went down:
178 blogs that linked back
177 sweet people who so graciously welcomed Moda Lissa into blogland, doubling their entries
76 lovely projects that have been posted at thimbleblossoms.com or emailed to me
minus 44 double entries
for a grand total of
1728
entries
Excuse my lameness, but holy cow people! THANK YOU! I am definitely feelin' the love over here on my end. Although it took me about 7 hours to visit all the blogs, award everyone the correct amount of points make a spreadsheet and pull all my hair out, I got it all sorted out. Phew!
After deducting that it would take approximately 4396 yards off fabric to make a quilt for each person who entered, and at least 11 years, I decided to stick to the original plan and just make a quilt for the grand prize winner, who chose this pattern:
made this comment:
"I am originally from Southern Utah. I am living in the great state of North Carolina. My favorite pattern is probably going to be the Baby Mine, in the colors of Brown and Blue. The weirdest compliment (I think it was meant that way) was when a friend said to me while I was pregnant with my first child "you must be having a girl, cause she is sucking the beauty right out of you". In a way, she was right, my daughter is gorgeous and I have never really gotten my youthful looks back. I am linking you to my blog, and it is hard to type with my fingers crossed."
and just happens to be #821,
Allison Roundy
Congratulations Allison! Email me at camille@thimbleblossoms(dot)com, we'll talk, and I'll get sewin'.
And you would think that was the most exciting part, right? Let me tell you, you'd be wrong. Remember when I told you how wonderful Lissa (of Moda Lissa fame) is to me? She's that good to you too! She is going to be giving away a second quilt! How's that for a surprise?
So, the lucky person who won a quilt from Lissa picked this quilt:
made this comment:
"Hi! I'm from Utah, but I've been transplanted to Massachusetts. I love New England, but boy do I miss the mountains! I love love love your Wallflower pattern, and I would count myself extremely lucky to have a Camille original!!!! I can't think of a strange compliment I've received, but something unique about me is that I could snap my fingers when I was six months old (cross my heart - at least that's what my mom claims) I also wanted to tell you how much I love your photography! You have a great artistic eye!"
was Lissa's 109th commenter, and just happens to be...
You lucky duck! I'm so jealous. I want a Moda Lissa original! Email me and I'll pass you on to Santa, er, Lissa.
So there you have it. Two winners, two quilts. Two lucky ladies.
And a few more? Sure, why not!
Two more winners will each get a set of three Thimble Blossoms patterns. Their favorite plus a few more. And probably a little fabric treat to go with it. And those winners?
#145 The talented Elizabeth at Silver Scissors Quilts who I'm pretty sure after reading her blog will definitely make good use of them! Yeah Elizabeth!
and
#1127 Rebecca Radford (she may need a double batch, since she and her daughter have recently started quilting together. How great is that??) who will need to start a blog so we can see more projects. ;-) She did post this on thimbleblossoms.com though,
and her daughter Macall (hope I spelled that right) posted the one below. Yeah girls!
Well, there you have it. I'm off to the sewing machine. I've got some sewing to do! Thank you, all of you. You made my.... November!
What do you say, should we do this again sometime? I think so.
